Our Treasures – Precious Wind Instruments

back

Do you know the Musette de cour from the court of the Sun King (a baroque bagpipe), the "Musettenbass" (a Bernese church instrument) or the stopped trumpet ("demi-lune")? How do they sound, what makes them unique, for what music were they developed?

We can display our most precious instruments only in protected showcases: They are in unstable condition, have parts made of particularly fragile materials or are extremely rare. This special exhibition now allows us to present these instruments as well and to mediate all of them by video recordings on our tablets.

Thank you!
